Christian Company Highlight of the Week: PTL Events Catering and Staffing

by Michael · 6 comments

I wanted to start a new segment of highlighting Christian based companies that are actually doing it. Since the whole Chick Fil-A fiasco ( I called it “fiasco” because that what it turned into) there’s has been a shedding of light on Christian based companies. Which obviously is pretty cool for a guy whose passion are Christianity and business. So I wanted to turn my attention to Praise The Lord Staffing and Events. They were recently interviewed by Fashion Indie and the story was later picked up by Fashionista.

The brainchild of this operation is  Mr. Seth Whalen.

Now why did this guy choose to name his company Praise The Lord?! I mean with a name like that it’s so easy to be boxed into  a “mold.” Even Bob Lotich of Christian PF spoke about the “missed opportunities” with his name. Seth’s reason:

I named my company PTL because I cannot do anything for my life, my business, or my marriage without going to the source of my strength which is Jesus. He anchors me, saves me and always comes through, sometimes in ways that I don’t realize or understand at the time. I try to instill in my staff, no matter their upbringing or faith, to work hard and do it in excellence. Keeps me sane, focused and cool under pressure… Whenever I book my staff or book an event or when a client asks for an almost impossible last minute request, I stop and pray for a moment asking God, my heavenly Father to come through in a miraculous way because I cannot do it on my own. Then I always give credit where credit is due, hence PTL, Praise the Lord!

Man this guy is deep!! ;)

It seems their biggest strength besides the abiding faith is their use of attractive staff.

Hmmm…I wonder if they’re hiring??

I like this new segment Mike…and I do agree. With the whole Chick Fil-A mess it has shed a light on the Christian business community. I’m glad to see that companies like this are making a difference!
