They Really Don’t.
I know it may shock you. Whether in ministry or in business…but they really don’t care.
Paul said,
“For scarely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.” (Romans 5:7 KJV)
The question is: What causes people to consider dying for a good man, but not for a righteous one?
Keep in mind: the word “righteous” and “good” both carry the notion of being “beneficial.” The main difference is that the righteous man is beneficial to himself whereas the good man is beneficial to others. That’s why righteousness is not a fruit of the Spirit but good ness is. We’re automaticallt righteous (or in right standing with God) through faith in Christ, but we grow in goodness
Have you ever been in a ”righteous” businesses:
–Yeah…we won a lot of awards
–Yeah…we’re pretty awesome
–Yeah…YOU need to work with us
–We’re #1…We’re #1…!!
Or what about a righteous church:
–Yeah…we’re all going to heaven…the rest of you…I don’t know…
–Yeah…we pretty much got it together over here
–Man…I thank God I’m not like you!
But Apple didn’t build it’s empire on being ”righteous” but being good…or beneficial to others. Or Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest,
and etc. None of this companies got to where they are by being righteous.
They got there by being good; or being useful to others.
The late investor Sir John Templeton once said:
”In almost 50 years of studying over 10,000 corporations. I learned the best long term results flowed to those who focused on providingincreasingly beneficial products and services. Whatver one does, he should ask, ‘In the long run, is this really useful to the public?’ If so, he is serving as a minister.”
People rarely sacrifice for righteous cause but they will for good ones.
They’ll sacrifice their time, energy, and…yes…their money!
What do you think?
